FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS PERMITS

Thank you for choosing to build within the Middleton/Star Fire Districts. We are excited to work with you during the construction process. To submit your plans, we currently prefer that you use a flash drive. Make sure to label the flash drive with the project name. Please note that we will not accept any plans without a completed application. You can find the application and fees below.

If you require fire flows, please send an email to permits@midstarfire.org to make the request. Additionally, please be aware that all sprinkler and alarm systems require simultaneous submittals to both the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Fire District unless the Fire Code Official specifies otherwise. It's important to note that approval from the State Fire Marshal's Office does not necessarily approve you to start work. The AHJ Fire Code Official will issue a construction permit as per IFC Section 105.

PLEASE NOTE: 

When it comes to fire safety and construction projects, it's important to understand the role of the State Fire Marshal's Office and the AHJ Fire Code Official. While obtaining approval from the State Fire Marshals Office is certainly an important step, it's not the final step before beginning work on a project.

In fact, according to the International Fire Code (IFC) Section 105, it's the responsibility of the AHJ Fire Code Official to issue a construction permit before work can begin. This permit ensures that all necessary safety measures are in place and that the project complies with all applicable fire codes.

So, while approval from the State Fire Marshal's Office is certainly important, it's only one piece of the puzzle. To ensure that your construction project is safe and compliant with all relevant codes and regulations, be sure to work closely with your AHJ Fire Code Official and obtain all necessary permits before beginning work.
